Meet the man behind the grant, Walter Morales
Walter Morales is an accomplished and dedicated educator, with more than two decades of experience in the field of finance. His academic expertise stems from his time as a professor of finance at Louisiana State University. During his tenure at LSU, he was actively involved in numerous initiatives to improve the Baton Rouge community. Notably, Walter founded Commonwealth Advisors, Inc. in 1991, where he currently serves as its President and Chief Investment Officer. Walter also is the founder of Louisiana Achievement Charter Academies, which run several charter schools in the Baton Rouge area.
In addition to his professional life, Walter is committed to addressing the significant racial disparities that exist in our society. He volunteers with a variety of local non-profit organizations and is part of the Diocese of Baton Rouge Racial Harmony Commission. Walter has dedicated a significant portion of his time to helping those who have been adversely affected by systemic racism, and he has played a major role in increasing awareness about racial injustice. He is passionate about giving back to the community and making it a better place for all.
